Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken And Sauce Bar

“A long, long time ago, a group of Portuguesse explorers set sail in search of the famed spice route. You’d think they’d be looking for more land or riches, but no. They wanted spices. Fortunately, they discovered the African Bird’s eye Chilli called Peri-Peri. ”  – History of Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken as found at the last page of their menu.

“Who found out it was one heck of a spicy chilli? Who knows? But thanks to that brave explorers, we’re all better for it.”From the history of Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken at the back of their menu (Photo is grabbed from its facebook page.)

“Everything is affordable!” Fredo said to me, he was grinning like a schoolboy.l

I took a glance at their menu, indeed, he was right.

As we settled in, we were deliberating what to order- he wanted the RIO (1 whole Peri Peri Chicken with 4 side dishes), I thought it was too enormous for us, so we decided to get Sao Paolo- 1/2 chicken and 2 side dishes for him, and Perichon wraps- 6 pieces for me.

This is what he wants!!! He’ll have it on our next visit!

While waiting for our food, we looked around and smiled.

“It’s really nice t to think that Cebu’s dining choices are expanding.” Fredo started the conversation with this- his face still beaming. “We are no longer stuck to these old restaurants (mentioned a few restos in Cebu that we both agreed to be overrated), we already have choices- like this place.”

“I agree, but the challenge of this place is the market. You need a car to get here, no jeepneys- so the market is a bit limited.” I responded a matter of factly.

He made a gesture of analyzing my point and replied, “That’s why you need to blog this one.”

Uhmm, that made me think. But before I could arrange my thoughts, our food arrived.   That was quick! And gosh, servings were huge!

Great value for money is even an understatement to describe the place, or yummy. (Yummy is so teenage!)

Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar has not only exceeded our expectation, but also captured our hearts.

So, let me give you 8 reasons why you should dig Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken like we do!

  1. The Food

There’s no debate about it- the food is amazing. Despite its affordability, the quality and quantity aren’t compromised-at all!!!

2. The SERVINGS

Each serving is shareable with your friends or family. Generosity is the value they follow the most- not patience. 😀

Php 255.00 – Healthy Meal 2 is 1/4 Peri Peri Chicken, Salad and Rappa. (Photo grabbed from Yvette’s facebook page)

3. Social Network Friendly

I gurantee you- the interior design is Instagram/Facebook/ Snapchat/Twitter/Tumblr-friendly. The bonus part of it is  the lighting- UGH, girl, you’d look delish!

Plus the food is classily composed for you- so take your camera out your bag and do the hashtags! ❤

4. Choices

In the world where choices matter- Peri Peri Charchoal Chicken and Sauce Bar doesn’t disappoint. Great news, you don’t get overwhelmed either.

The famous sauces! Chilli Peppa, Honey Pinakurat, Cajun Remoulade, Sheik Chic’s Harissa Exotica, Garlic Brew, Mesquite BBQ, Hoisin Sesame

5. The Location

This may antagonize my statement above, however, I could see a year from now- Mandaue will be the center of Cebu- a lot of constructions are on going- condos, hospitals, schools, establishments, hotels and many more. So I won’t be surprised that Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken will have to expand their place!

6. Affordability

Prices range from Php 85.00 to Php 650.00. do I need to expound on this one?

I guess not.

Everything in their menu is a great value for your money and tummy. Trust me on this. 🙂

7. Great Customer Service

I love talking to staff- asking them what are the best sellers, who owns the place, any on-going promos- stuff like that. It impresses me when a staff knows what they are doing, knows about the food they are serving, knows how the place has started and knows the little details such operating hours, etc. It’s a breath of fresh air to see employees enjoying their job, welcoming guests warmly, and are able to answer little inquiries.

Kudos to Ken who  was serving when we visited Peri Peri.

8. Grilled to perfection- just for YOU.

UGH!

This time, it was Fredo’s!

“Spit-fire” is definitely the most accurate adjective to decribe the chicken. The union of spices creates an undeniable long-lasting impression to your taste bud. thus, makes you crave for more!

This chicken is an outlaw.  I am warning you.

Currently i’m here at Peri Peri Solenad, Sta.Rosa, Laguna branch. I just notice the staff here, flip the CLOSE sign even if they are not suppose to be closed. If i’m not mistaken, this branch closes every 9pm. The gir(i didn’t get the name because he has no nameplate), flip the CLOSE sign by 8:37pm only! Yes!! As early as 8:37pm! I wonder why they did that? They don’t have any concern in your establishment. What if there are still more out there who want to go and dine in, in your restaurant? If the sales of this branch is declining(i don’t know) maybe that’s why, your staff as well as your Manager don’t care by the way. They will close your store regardless of what time they want to close it? You have to think many times if you’ve got the right Team you have in your Solenad(Sta.Rosa Laguna, branch). I was sitting, near in the dispatch area, your kitchen crew is so noisy. They keep on yelling. As well as your frontliners, they are all so noisy they are all chatting. I guess your team doesn’t care in your establishment especially to your sales. Your kitchen crew is very noisy, they are shouting also like “Uwian na, hindi na masaya” I guess the Manager on duty is Jull-Ann(wearing black) i don’t know if i got that right, frontliners were 2 girls(staff), 1 boy(staff) and Rona(wearing gray i don’t know if she’s just a staff also). All of them is so noisy in the dining area except to the boy sever. As well as your Cashier. I don’t know if i’m in the wet market???? You have a lot of problems in this branch, your food is good but your people? I don’t think so, maybe you have to re-train them as well as the Manager(Jull-Ann wearing black) it seems like she doesn’t care about what kind of people she has, the behavior and the attitude of her staffs. Both back of house and front of house, very disappointing and they are very annoying(VERY NOISY).

    1. Hi Joana, thank you for your comment, appreciate it a lot. I am sorry for your bad experience with Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar in Laguna. Each branch is different, I guess. My review pertained to my experience in Cebu branch. I exactly know how you feel, as I have my share of this kind of experience, and normally, I would talk to the manager if I feel I am not happy with the service. 🙂
